Commitment to Accessibility
CastVerse is committed to making the casting process open to all users, regardless of ability, by adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 standards.Last Updated: 11/16/2025
I. Digital Accessibility (Technical Features)
These features ensure the app's interface is usable with assistive technologies.
Keyboard Navigation
The entire app and all forms (including submission and audition pages) can be navigated and operated using only the keyboard. Tab order follows a logical, predictable sequence.
Screen Reader Optimization
All interactive elements, images, and visual cues have accurate and descriptive Alternative Text (Alt Text) and proper ARIA labels. This ensures seamless use with software like VoiceOver, NVDA, and TalkBack.
High Contrast & Readability
Color Contrast: All text meets or exceeds WCAG AA standards for color contrast ratio, ensuring readability for users with low vision or color blindness.
Text Resizing: Users can scale text up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
Focus Indication
Clear, visible focus indicators (e.g., a thick blue border) are provided for all interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) during keyboard navigation.
II. Media Accessibility (Video & Audio Content)
Since CastVerse handles extensive video and audio media, specific features are crucial for talent and casting professionals.
Closed Captioning (Mandatory)
All uploaded video content (reels, self-tapes) must have accurate closed captions. The app offers an integrated tool that automatically generates captions with an easy-to-use editor for verification.
Audio Descriptions
Guidelines and tools are provided for creators to include audio descriptions for key visual elements, benefiting users with vision impairment.
Voice-Over Profile Standards
Transcripts: All Voice-Over audio samples must be accompanied by a full, readable transcript.
Volume Consistency: Tools help VO artists normalize audio volume to industry standards, preventing jarring changes for listeners with hearing aids.
III. Process & System Accessibility
These features ensure the casting process itself is equitable and inclusive.
Accessible Self-Tape Instructions
Casting Directors are prompted to write clear, concise instructions for self-tapes, avoiding vague language that could confuse users with cognitive disabilities.
Accessible Communication
The built-in messaging system fully supports screen readers and allows for flexible response formats (text, voice note transcripts).
Extended Time Options
Casting Directors have the option to offer extended submission deadlines or additional time for auditions upon request, ensuring talent can accommodate needs related to disability.
Diverse Role Tagging (Revolutionary)
Project posters are encouraged and guided to use inclusive tags for roles, such as "Casting for Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing Actor," or "Role Open to Mobility Device Users," making it easier for specific talent to find relevant opportunities.
IV. Support & Feedback
Our commitment to accessibility is ongoing. We welcome feedback and provide dedicated channels for support.
Continuous Improvement
We conduct regular accessibility audits and actively incorporate user feedback to identify and address barriers on the platform.
Dedicated Accessibility Contact
Users can report accessibility barriers or request accommodations via our dedicated contact form. This channel is monitored to ensure a timely response.
